Contribution to International Research Networks
Data collected in Ny-Ålesund contribute to a wide range of international scientific networks and observing systems. These networks are essential for understanding global environmental change and rely on high-quality, comparable data from multiple locations worldwide.
Through a process in NySMAC, the Ny-Ålesund community is currently working to improve the overview of the international networks where data from Ny-Ålesund is included. This work is based on information from the Ny-Ålesund GIS system and focuses on making both key reference networks with strict quality and comparability requirements, as well as other important networks, more visible.
An overview of these networks is presented below. This list is not complete jet, but provides insight into the breadth of international network the Ny-Ålesund community contributes to.
