Atmosphere Flagship Strategy

The Atmosphere Flagship is in the process of developing a Flagship strategy

There is a wide range of atmospheric research activities on Svalbard which we aim to bring together through the Atmosphere Flagship – to foster scientific exchange and collaboration among researchers. To strengthen our collective opportunities for the future, we aim to develop a Scientific Roadmap toward the International Polar Year 2032/33 (IPY5).

The Flagship is a bottom-up initiative, so we want to collect ideas and discuss plans for the coming years with the atmospheric research community. Together, we want to identify shared milestones that will guide our collective efforts toward a successful International Polar Year. Ultimately, the scientific roadmap should help all of us develop a clear plan for the years leading up to IPY5 and strengthen our ability to secure research funding.

To initiate this process, the five thematic working groups of the Atmosphere Flagship will each hold an online meeting to discuss future priorities with colleagues from their respective research fields. PLEASE JOIN the meeting of the thematic group that you consider most relevant to your work. (You are also welcome to join more than one group!)
