Sea ice starts to form in Kongsfjorden

Norwegian Polar Institute’s operations engineers started sea ice observations from Zeppelin Observatory in February. The photo and drawing show the ice have started to form in Kongsfjorden. The engineers are updating “ice map” daily. It will be exciting to observe how the sea ice develops throughout winter.
